The Panaji City Corporation also plans to set up a containerized shower and changing room on the promenade, using CSR funds.
Imagine Panaji Smart City Devpt Ltd, the agency set up to implement the Centre’s Smart City mission, has launched an Expression of Interest (EoI) seeking designs and plans to develop the street food center in accordance with the “world standard design”.
The hub should be designed according to “authentic Goan architecture” and should be made of eco-friendly or sustainable materials in order to meet all CRZ standards, according to the agency.
The design should also be cost effective and should take into consideration the technical aspects involved in running a food court, such as waste management, sanitation, water and other requirements for food stalls.
PCC commissioner Agnelo Fernandes said the PCC is installing a changing room with showers for women visiting the beach. Toilets will also be installed along the promenade, he said.
